How to make a favicon

Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The icons are made inside your browser, and your image never leaves your device.
What is in the ZIP?
favicon.ico with 16, 32 and 48 pixel icons, PNG icons at 16, 32, 48, 180, 192 and 512 pixels, a maskable 512 pixel icon for Android, and a file with the link tags.
What is a maskable icon?
An icon that Android can crop to a circle, a rounded square or another shape. Your image is kept inside the middle of the icon, so no shape cuts it off.
Why does the Apple touch icon have a background?
iPhones and iPads fill a transparent icon with black, so this icon always gets your background colour, or white when you choose Transparent.
Where do the files go?
Put them at the root of your website, next to your home page, and paste the link tags into the head of each page.
