Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The text is recognised inside your browser, and your files never leave your device.
Will my PDF look different?
No. The pages stay exactly as they were. The recognised words are added as invisible text over them, so you can search, select and copy.
What happens to pages that already have text?
They are left exactly as they were, and the result says which ones they were.
Why does the first PDF take longer?
The first time, your browser downloads the text recognition engine, about 7 MB. After that it is kept, so the next PDF starts at once.
How is this different from Image to Text?
Image to Text gives you the words as plain text. This tool keeps your PDF and makes its words searchable inside it.
