Are folders kept?
Yes, when you drop a folder on the page, the files keep their folder paths inside the ZIP. Files chosen with the button go in at the top level.
Does it make the files smaller?
Text, documents and other files that compress well are compressed. Photos, videos, music and other archives are stored as they are, because they are compressed already and would barely shrink.
Is there a size limit?
One ZIP made here holds under 4 GB and up to 65,535 files, because larger archives need an extension called Zip64 that this tool does not write. Below that, the limit is your device's memory.
What happens if two files have the same name?
Both are kept. The second gets a number, such as photo-2.jpg, so neither replaces the other when the ZIP is opened.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The ZIP is made inside your browser, so your files never leave your device.
