How to encrypt a file
- Choose Encrypt, then the file.
- Enter a password twice.
- Download the encrypted .tkenc file. To open it again, choose Decrypt, the .tkenc file and the password.

What if I forget the password?
The file can't be opened, and Toolgrave can't recover the password. Keep it somewhere safe.
How strong is the encryption?
AES-256-GCM, with the key made from your password by 600,000 rounds of PBKDF2-SHA-256. A long password matters more than anything else.
Can other apps open a .tkenc file?
The format is published, so any program can be written to read it, but today it opens here.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is encrypted inside your browser, and neither it nor the password leaves your device.
