Questions
How is the tax worked out?
The price before tax times the rate, rounded to the nearest cent. The price with tax is the two added together.
How does Remove tax work?
It divides the price with tax by one plus the rate, so 108.25 at 8.25% gives 100.00 before tax and 8.25 of tax.
What happens with several rates?
They are added together, as a state rate and a local rate apply to the same price. 5% and 2.5% make 7.5%.
Where do I find my tax rate?
From your state, city or tax authority, or on a receipt. The calculator has no list of rates; it uses the rate you type.
Is anything I enter sent anywhere?
